[ARCHIVED] FPL Project

Until August, FPL will be working on a project in the Village to improve the electrical system. Although FPL advises that no electric system can be 100 percent hurricane proof, this project will help to minimize interruptions and ensure that we “continue to have safe, reliable electric service.” The project locations are described below.

January – April: From FPL Substation at Purdy Lane/Military Trail, south to Anna Lane and behind houses fronting Anna Lane and Forest Lane. Along Greenbrier Drive, between Davis Road and Henthorne Drive.

April – June: North side of LWDD L-9 canal between Kirk Road and Henthorne Drive (lines are in rear of residential lots, but will be accessed via canal). Along Davis Road from L-9 canal, north to Alemeda Drive, and south to Greenbrier Drive (includes easterly connection to Water Treatment Plant).

May/June – August: Congress Avenue, between Drew Way and Rex Avenue. Behind houses fronting Alice Drive, between Congress Avenue and Prairie Road. Along Prairie Road and Arabian Road to Florida Mango Road.

Also, new “express lines” will be installed underground along the following streets:
- Anna Lane (between Military Trail and Donald Rd)
- Greenbrier Drive (between Osborne Dr and Congress Ave)
- Henthorne Drive (between Greenbrier Drive and L-9 Canal)

If you have any questions regarding this project, you may contact FPL at (800) 693-3267, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM and refer to the Purdy Lane Storm Secure, WR 5085095.
