[ARCHIVED] Interested in Serving Your Community? Apply Today for the Vacant District 3 Village Council Seat!

The Village of Palm Springs is currently accepting applications to fill the vacant Village Council Seat for District 3. If you have an interest, applications must be submitted by 12 PM (Noon), Tuesday, October 16, 2018.

The current vacancy is due to the unfortunate passing of Council Member Liz Shields. Ms. Shields was a dedicated member of the Village Council who loved Palm Springs.

Council members help determine policy, govern our ordinances and represent the interests of our residents in Palm Springs.  The appointed candidate will serve until the next election, which will be held in March 2019.

Qualifications to apply in accordance to the Village Charter [Section 3.02] include:

  • A registered voter of the Village of Palm Springs
  • A Village of Palm Springs resident for at least one (1) year preceding the qualification period.
  • Must live in District 3 - click the link to see the map

To be considered for appointment, your application must be received by the Village Clerk no later than Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 12 PM (Noon). Applications that are mailed must be postmarked on or before the deadline to be considered.

A Special Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the Village Council Chambers to interview and potentially appoint a successor to fill the vacancy for the District 3 Village Council Seat.
