June 1st marked the beginning of another hurricane season and you may have seen our Maintenance Department around Palm Springs doing their part to help get ready. We have begun the process of trimming palm fronds, branches, and coconuts from trees in the right-of-ways and at Village facilities. This work will continue in the coming weeks.
Now is the time to trim trees on your property before a storm is imminent. Trees should not only be trimmed but also thinned to allow strong winds to pass through them in order to prevent them from falling down during a hurricane.
Please DO NOT trim trees if a named storm is headed this way. We will be unable to pick up trimmings immediately before a storm and those branches will become a hazard during a major storm event. Also, please adhere to proper tree pruning guidelines as shown in the illustration below.
