[ARCHIVED] Best Wishes to Village Council Member Sergio Escalada

The Village Council bid a fond farewell to Council Member Sergio Escalada who resigned his seat at the May 12th Village Council Meeting as he is moving to North Florida to be closer to his family. Council Member Escalada has served the Village admirably since he was appointed on March 10th, 2011 and has been a constant source of wisdom and forethought as he and the rest of the Council have guided Palm Springs through a period of calculated growth while maintaining the “small town” feel that our residents continue to enjoy. A reception followed the Council Meeting where well-wishers expressed their appreciation for the faithful service Council Member Escalada provided for the past 5+ years.
The District 3 Council Member position that Mr. Escalada leaves, which has an unexpired term through March of 2017, will now have to be filled according to the Charter of the Village of Palm Springs. Interested parties can apply on the Village website at or contact Village Clerk Susan Caljean at 561-434-5084 or email her at to get an application. Closing date for submitting an application will be Thursday, June 9th, 2016 at 12:00 Noon and a Special Council Meeting will be held on Thursday, June 23rd at 6:30 to interview and potentially appoint a successor.
