[ARCHIVED] Free County-wide CPR Day to be held Saturday, February 13th

CPR day flyer ENG 16_proof 4.jpg

On Saturday, February 13th, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon there will be a county-wide effort to teach the new “hands-only” CPR to as many people as possible. There will be multiple locations throughout the County….the central and coastal areas will be served by PBCFR Station 91 (Lake Worth), all three stations of Palm Beach Fire-Rescue, and Boynton Beach Fire Station 5. The attached flyer contains all of the locations and addresses. Classes last 30 minutes.

Studies have indicated that early, effective CPR can dramatically increase survival rates. This means that the best hope is a trained bystander that starts CPR prior to the arrival of Fire-Rescue. The new standards are designed to encourage bystanders to start CPR by eliminating “rescue breaths”, which can make one reluctant to perform on a stranger.
