The Palm Springs Police Department, in conjunction with Shred-It, proudly announce a Canned Food Drive / Shred Event to be held on Saturday, November 14 from 10 AM to Noon. Fraud and Identity theft are crimes of opportunity and are on the rise so properly shredding important documents you no longer need to keep is important. Many people keep old receipts, bank statements, credit card statements and other paperwork with account numbers or Social Security numbers on them because they think they are necessary. Keeping these items only provides useful information for those who are looking to steal your identity. Deter thieves by shredding sensitive material and safeguarding your personal information.
It is requested that a donation of 4 non-perishable items be made for each box/bag of documents to be shredded. The food will benefit local families in need. This event is limited to Residential Shredding Only. There is a limit of 5 boxes/bags. No CD’s, DVD’s, Binders, X-Rays, Plastics, etc.
