[ARCHIVED] Commercial Backflow Prevention Program

The Village of Palm Springs has been maintaining a commercial backflow prevention program in accordance with State Law. The importance of a backflow prevention assembly is to protect Public Health by preventing back-siphonage of potential contaminates into the Public Water System. The Village of Palm Springs has contracted HydroCorp, to coordinate the inspections and testing of backflow prevention assemblies at all commercial sites that are connected to the Village of Palm Springs Water System.

If a Commercial Property is found to not have the required backflow prevention assembly, The Village will be sending out a letter outlining the property owner’s responsibilities to install a backflow prevention assembly system. All existing backflow prevention assemblies will be tested annually to comply with State and Local Ordinances.

FLORIDA STATE LAW
In accordance with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Rule 62-555.360, and Village of Palm Springs Code of Ordinances, #2010-26, Chapter 78, Article II, Sec. 78-131-136.
