Palm Springs Elementary hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on Fri., May 1st in the school's Media Center. The Palm Springs Library was named Public Sector Business Partner of the Year. Children's Librarian Mary Helen Sakellarios accepted the award. Palm Springs Library has won on the school district and state level this school year and will attend The State Commissioners Business Award Ceremony in June at the Grand Hyatt Regency in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Too Jay's catered a delicious breakfast compliments of the school's PTA. Principal Dawn Lewis and Palm Beach County School District guest speaker, Deborah Elfin thanked our guests for being an important part of the school. A video of past and present volunteers and business partners was shown during this event. A talented group of first graders performed songs for the attendees. The school nominated PTA President Mrs. McRae as Volunteer of the Year.
Special gifts and district certificates were presented to everyone. The flower arrangements were donated by our local business partner, "A Flower Shop" and were raffled off to seven lucky guests. Mrs. Keezer, Volunteer and Business Partnership Coordinator thanked everyone for coming and surprised Principal Lewis with a school district logo bag full of "survival items" much needed with her busy daily schedule. Congratulations to all those recognized for their efforts.
